3v3 Fall Showdown

The MSA 3v3 Showdown is back this November after a successful summer edition! This event brings the excitement of fast-paced, small-sided soccer to the indoor turf at the MSA Athlete Development Center.

3v3 soccer is designed to maximize touches, creativity, and fun. With no goalkeepers and smaller fields, players are constantly involved in the game—encouraging quick decisions, skillful play, and nonstop action.


Whether your team is looking for a competitive challenge or just a fun way to play more soccer with friends, the Fall Showdown is the perfect environment.

EVENT DETAILS

  • Date: Sunday, November 9th

  • Time: 9:00am – 5:30pm

  • Location: MSA Athlete Development Center (indoor turf)

  • Divisions:

    • U8 (2018–2019) – Coed

    • U10 (2016–2017) – Boys & Girls

    • U12 (2014–2015) – Boys & Girls

  • Team Limit: Maximum of 4 teams per division

  • Price - $250/team

TOURNAMENT FORMAT

​

  • 3v3 games, no goalkeepers

  • Roster size: 4–6 players

  • Guaranteed at least 3 games per team, with the possibility of a 4th in the finals

  • Game length:

    • U8 = 20 minutes (8-min halves)

    • U10/U12 = 25 minutes (10-min halves)

  • 2 fields running simultaneously

  • Registration closes once divisions are full (max 4 teams per division)

How to Register Your Team

  • All registrations are completed through TeamUp.

  • Create/Log into Your TeamUp Account – The team manager must have a TeamUp account.

  • Go to the Programs Tab – Select 3v3 Fall Showdown and choose the correct age group.

  • Complete the Team Registration Form – Enter your team details and player names.

  • Finalize & Submit – Once complete, your team is officially registered.

  • Important: Every player must also create their own TeamUp account and sign the waiver & liability forms before the tournament.

Don’t Have a Team?

Don’t have a full team? No problem! Use this form to apply as an individual guest player for the MSA 3v3 Fall Showdown. We will do our best to either:

  • Place you on an existing team, or

  • Form a new team with other individual players.

  • Price: $55/player

You will not be charged until your placement is confirmed. If we cannot place you, there is no cost to you.

Rules & FAQs

Game Format

  • Team Size on Field: 3 players (no goalkeepers)

  • Roster Size: 4–6 players max

  • Game Duration:

  • U8: Two 8-minute halves; 4-minute halftime

  • U10: Two 10-minute halves; 5-minute halftime

  • Running clock, no stoppage time

Scoring & Standings

  • Win = 3 points

  • Draw = 1 point

  • Loss = 0 points

  • Tiebreakers:

  • Goal differential

  • Goals scored

  • Head-to-head

  • Coin toss (if needed)

Substitutions

  • Unlimited subs (on the fly or during stoppage)

  • Players must enter and exit at midfield

Fouls & Free Kicks

  • All fouls result in indirect free kicks

  • No sliding or contact tackles

  • Warning for first slide tackle; yellow-card for second

  • Kick-ins (not throw-ins) on out-of-bounds

  • Opponents must stand 5 yards back on free kicks/kick-ins

Goal Area Rules

  • No player may stand or defend inside the goal area

  • Shots must be taken outside the goal area

  • Goals can only be scored from the attacking half

Goalkeeping

  • No designated goalkeepers

  • Players may not act as goalies

  • If a player camps out in front of goal, they will receive a warning

  • Second time, player must be substituted (if no subs, team will play a player down)

Cards & Conduct

  • Yellow Card = 1-minute power play for opposing team

  • Red Card = ejection + team plays down a player rest of game

  • Coaches and spectators must remain positive and respectful
